College Credit Plus Information

The East Muskingum School District wishes to inform all students in grades seven through twelve and their parents or guardians of the College Credit Plus program that will be available in the 2022-2023 school year.  The program is governed within the Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3365 and OAC Rules 3333-1-65.1 through 3333-1-65.10.  The informational session will be held Thursday, February 3 at 6:00 P.M. ONLINE via the link... https://tinyurl.com/2p9dtfdc

Ohio’s College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities.  The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students.  Taking a college course from a public college or university through College Credit Plus is free tuition. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

Parents/guardians, please consider this program very carefully.  It may or may not be the right program for your student.  Everyone who attends the meeting will be offered counseling services concerning the benefits and consequences of participation in the College Credit Plus program, student eligibility, credits, transportation, finances, and student scheduling of JGHS courses as well as college courses.  Before we can consider your student for this program, (s)he must be able to gain admittance to a participating college or university.  The college will admit you based on your college-readiness in one or more subject areas.  You and your student must also complete & return the Intent to Participate Form by Friday, April 1, 2022.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the School Counseling Office at 826-7641.
